Oil-Based Massage
Jewel’s oil-based therapeutic bodywork significantly draws upon Cayce-Reilly massage, which blends Swedish, Osteopathic, and Neuropathic massage techniques. The Cayce-Reilly massage style was created by Dr. Harold J. Reilly, a pioneer in the field of massage therapy and a world-renowned physiotherapist. Dr. Reilly based the creation of this massage style upon the wealth of insights on holism, healing, and personal transformation within Edgar Cayce’s famous psychic health readings. Mr. Cayce was a medical intuitive with the highest accuracy rate ever recorded in human history and is known as 'the father of holistic medicine'. Because of Mr. Cayce's influence in health care, Cayce- Reilly massage nurtures the nerves, organs, glands, and circulation while ridding the body's toxins and encouraging the muscles to heal.
CranioSacral Therapy
While there are many different modern approaches to CranioSacral Therapy, all of them have roots in the work of William Garner Sutherland (1873-1954), who was an American osteopath and student of Andrew Taylor Still (the founder of Osteopathy). Over time, their work was expanded upon by a lineage of practitioners who refer to it as Cranial Osteopathy. In the 1970s, another American osteopath, named John Upledger (1932-2012), began to teach this work to people who weren’t practicing Osteopathy. Mr. Upledger started to call it ‘Craniosacral Therapy’ and has passed down the belief that “each and every one of us has an intelligence inside that knows everything about what is going on in our lives”. Jewel continues Craniosacral Therapy with a strong belief and deep trust in the body’s inner healing wisdom, allowing the client’s body to direct the healing.
Thai Bodywork
Called by a multitude of names including Thai Yoga Bodywork and Sacred Thai Healing, Thai Bodywork is one root of a medicine practice grown out of a culture whose focus is health, longevity, and the generation of luck and loving-kindness. As called in its native language, Nuad Thai has influences from Theravada Buddhist practice, Indian, Chinese, Yogic, and inherently Thai shamanic folk healing styles. This practice is a blend of element-based techniques and philosophy whose effect extends well beyond the body systems, positively touching all layers of the self. As practiced by traditional Folk Healers, called Reusi, Thai Folk Healing comprises five facets, Dat Ton (self-healing), Spiritual Practice, Bone Setting, Dietary and Herbal Wisdom, and my focus, Bodywork. This work intends to cleanse and refresh your energy system and reset all body systems, including the muscular, skeletal, nervous, and digestive systems. This practice quiets the mind, settles the body, and frees tension allowing the body to work more efficiently.
Reiki Energy Healing
This is the sacred work of subtle energetic shifts, an intuitive series of hand positions that stimulate the body’s central nervous system to relax and release. Receiving Reiki is like a peaceful ride through conscious driftings, as you feel the practitioner offering soothing still touch. This touch awakens cells, clears tension, and profoundly replenishes the mind, giving it credit in metaphysical and scientific circles to be one of the most effective healing arts for nearly all illnesses. Though there is little movement and sometimes even little touch, the body becomes acutely aware of every sensation. From this heightened awareness, muscles melt as touch feels enhanced to a full-body experience. It is as though all of your cells are positively responding to the smallest suggestion of kindness and healing.
Through constant study, research, and revision, Jewel’s practice foundations strengthen as she continues to honor each practice’s culture and origin.
